# CMS NPI registry organizations

US healthcare organizations from the NPPES National Provider Identifier registry, by name, specialty (taxonomy), city, state or ZIP: NPI number, legal name. Takes organization name, taxonomy description, city and more, all optional.

US healthcare organizations from the NPPES National Provider Identifier registry, by name, specialty (taxonomy), city, state or ZIP: NPI number, legal name, practice and mailing addresses, phone, taxonomies and licences, enumeration date. Use it to build a list of clinics, labs, pharmacies or suppliers in an area. Organizations only (entity type 2), individual practitioners are not searched. State alone is rejected: add another field. Name accepts a trailing * after two letters.

## Execute and retrieve

Inspect again before execution, explain the price and obtain the required authority. Use MCP run_tool or POST /v1/run with this tool ID, valid input and an idempotency key. Save the returned run ID and follow the actual state. If Agentik answers that the tool is temporarily unavailable, do not retry it blindly; use discovery to propose an alternative.
