# Crossref works by funder

Publications that acknowledge a funder, from publisher deposits in Crossref: DOI, title, date, journal, publisher, type, citation count and the funders named. Needs funder id.

Publications that acknowledge a funder, from publisher deposits in Crossref: DOI, title, date, journal, publisher, type, citation count and the funders named with their grant numbers. Use it to see what a foundation, agency or company paid for, newest or most cited first, with no search term. Get the funder id (the digits after 10.13039/) from crossref/funders-search. Returns 404 for an unknown funder.

## Execute and retrieve

Inspect again before execution, explain the price and obtain the required authority. Use MCP run_tool or POST /v1/run with this tool ID, valid input and an idempotency key. Save the returned run ID and follow the actual state. If Agentik answers that the tool is temporarily unavailable, do not retry it blindly; use discovery to propose an alternative.
