# Find what your competitors rank for that you don’t. And how their best pages got there

An SEO competitor analysis shows who you really compete with on Google, what they win that you don’t, and why. With Agentik, your AI gets the competitors, keyword gaps and link gaps from DataForSEO, reads their best pages with Firecrawl, and compares them with their copies from a year ago in the Wayback Machine.

- For: SEO leads, founders and agencies
- Providers: 3 (DataForSEO, Firecrawl and Internet Archive), 6 tools
- Example (Your domain against 3 competitors in the United States, 100 missing keywords each, 50 referring domains, 9 top pages read today and a year ago): at most $0.25, computed from the live catalog
- Updated: 2026-10-07

## Each provider does one part

No single provider covers this job. Through Agentik your AI calls each one for its part, from one connection and one prepaid balance.

- **DataForSEO** (4 tools, at most $0.16): Your real search competitors, the keywords they win and you don’t, their top pages, and the sites linking to them but not to you.
- **Firecrawl** (1 tool, at most $0.09): Their best pages today, and last year’s copies, as text.
- **Internet Archive** (1 tool, free): Each page as it was about a year ago, from the Internet Archive.

## Give this to your agent

```text
Use my connected Agentik MCP server for this job: seo competitor analysis.
Run an SEO competitor analysis. First ask me for my domain, my country and language, and any competitors I already know.
Find my real search competitors with dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-competitors-domain. For the top three, list the keywords they rank for and I don’t with dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-domain-intersection, and their pages that earn the most traffic with dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-relevant-pages. Find the sites that link to them but not to me with dataforseo/backlinks-domain-intersection. Read their three best pages each with firecrawl/scrape, then find each page’s copy from a year ago with wayback/availability and read it too.
Finish with the keyword gap, the link gap, and for each competitor what their best pages do and what they changed, then a 90-day plan for my site.
Before running anything, inspect each tool with inspect_tool, ask me for any input you don’t have instead of inventing it, and tell me the total price. Wait for my go. At the end, tell me what Agentik charged.
## How to run an SEO competitor analysis in Claude or ChatGPT
Prices are the most each call can reserve for this example: Your domain against 3 competitors in the United States, 100 missing keywords each, 50 referring domains, 9 top pages read today and a year ago.
### 1. Find who you really compete with
DataForSEO Labs lists the domains that rank for the same keywords as you, with their estimated traffic.
- [Organic competitors of a domain](/tools/dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-competitors-domain.md) `dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-competitors-domain` (DataForSEO, 10 competitors): at most $0.02
### 2. List the keywords you’re missing
For each of the top three, the keywords they rank for and you don’t.
- [Keyword gap between two domains](/tools/dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-domain-intersection.md) `dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-domain-intersection` (DataForSEO, 100 keywords each): at most $0.08
### 3. Find the pages that win
Each competitor’s pages that earn the most organic traffic.
- [Top pages of a domain](/tools/dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-relevant-pages.md) `dataforseo/dataforseo-labs-google-relevant-pages` (DataForSEO, 20 pages each): at most $0.05
### 4. List your link gap
Sites that link to all three competitors but not to you are the likeliest to link to you too.
- [Link gap](/tools/dataforseo/backlinks-domain-intersection.md) `dataforseo/backlinks-domain-intersection` (DataForSEO, 50 referring domains): at most $0.03
### 5. Read their best pages
Firecrawl turns each competitor’s three best pages into text: structure, depth and what they promise.
- [Scrape a page to markdown](/tools/firecrawl/scrape.md) `firecrawl/scrape` (Firecrawl, 9 pages): at most $0.05
### 6. See what they changed
The Wayback Machine finds each page’s copy from about a year ago, and Firecrawl reads it, so your AI can compare the two.
- [Archived page lookup](/tools/wayback/availability.md) `wayback/availability` (Internet Archive, 9 pages): free
- [Scrape a page to markdown](/tools/firecrawl/scrape.md) `firecrawl/scrape` (Firecrawl, 9 archived copies): at most $0.05
### 7. Plan your answer
Your AI turns the gaps into a plan: pages to write, pages to improve, sites to pitch.
Example total: at most $0.25. Each call is billed for measured usage; unused reservations are released.
## Ask it your way
- Who are our real competitors in Google UK, and how does our traffic compare?
- List 100 keywords our two main competitors rank for and we don’t, with volume.
- Which sites link to all three competitors but not to us?
- What did competitor.com change on its pricing guide before it overtook us?
## Why through Agentik
- Search data, page reading and the Internet Archive through one connection, without a DataForSEO or Firecrawl account.
- The archive lookups are free; your agent prices the rest before it runs.
## Good to know
- Traffic figures are DataForSEO estimates from rankings: useful to compare sites, not their analytics.
- The Wayback Machine doesn’t keep every page on every date; your agent uses the closest copy and says when there is none.
## When to use something else
To monitor competitors continuously with alerts, an SEO suite with tracking fits better. Agentik suits analyses your AI runs and explains with you.
## SEO competitor analysis: questions
### Couldn’t I just use DataForSEO directly?
For the gaps, yes. Reading the pages and comparing them with last year’s copies needs Firecrawl and the Wayback Machine. Through Agentik your AI uses all three from one connection and one balance; the example costs at most $0.25.
### How are competitors chosen?
By overlap: the domains ranking for the most keywords you also rank for, plus any you name.
### What does the example cost?
At most $0.25; the Internet Archive lookups are free.
