How can I trust a report built by my AI agent from several APIs?

Make multi-API agent reports auditable with source URLs, run IDs, dates and coverage.

By Agentik · Updated

A useful multi-tool report connects its material claims to the evidence that supports them. Keep source identity, retrieval time, requested scope and execution references with the data as it moves through the workflow. Agentik supplies tool access and run metadata; your application must retain the authorized content and evidence needed to review the final answer.

Create an evidence record before synthesis

For a public-page claim, retain the source URL and supporting passage. For private analytics, retain the source account, period and metric definition. For generated media, retain the prompt and settings and identify the output as generated rather than source evidence.

A run receipt records execution and billing information; it is not a full archive of every input and output. Store permitted task content in the system responsible for the deliverable, with the access and retention appropriate to that data.

Label observations, estimates and conclusions

A provider estimate, a current observation and the agent’s inference have different evidential strength. Keep them distinguishable in the output. A public ad’s observed duration, for example, does not prove profitable performance.

Attach citations near the claims they support. A list of links at the end cannot repair a statement whose source does not actually contain the asserted fact. Preserve important qualifiers and report conflicting evidence instead of forcing an unwarranted single conclusion.

Report what the workflow did not observe

Document requested versus returned scope: accounts, periods, pages, result counts and missing providers. An empty response can reflect no match, limited coverage, a pending job or an error. Keep the actual state instead of turning every absence into a factual negative.

Before delivery, check the final report against its acceptance criteria. Are the sources accessible to the intended reviewer? Do dates match the claim? Are generated concepts labelled? This review tests usefulness and traceability, not merely whether each HTTP request succeeded.

What you pay for

Supported paid tools use Agentik's prepaid workspace balance. Inspect the selected tool's pricing units and maximum before approving a run; a reservation can differ from its settled charge. Funding fees, taxes and your model's usage are separate. Current terms are on the Pricing and Billing pages linked below.

Attach evidence to a competitor comparison row

This output contract keeps each factual field reviewable. It is a report design, not an executed result or a claim of verified competitor data.

Give this to your agent

Create an auditable report about [question] from [authorized sources] using Agentik. Inspect the required tool contracts and propose a bounded plan before paid calls. After approval, retain source IDs or URLs, supporting passages, retrieval times, returned scope and run references. Distinguish observations, estimates, interpretations and generated content. Check each material claim against its source and report missing or conflicting evidence in the final deliverable.

Your agent should inspect the tools and ask for missing inputs before proposing any paid work.

Fact-check a claimAt most $0.07

A claim checked against the web, the news, research papers and Wikipedia, with the original source found in the Internet Archive.

One claim, one Exa search, one news search, one Wikipedia search, one OpenAlex search, 2 archive lookups.

This catalog-based reservation maximum belongs to the playbook’s inputs, separately from this guide’s worked example. It is not an executed charge. Optional calls, funding fees, taxes and model usage are excluded.

Questions

Is a tool receipt a complete archive of my report evidence?

No. Keep the authorized content and citations in the system responsible for the deliverable. Run metadata supports execution and cost review.

Does citing many sources make an answer reliable?

Only when the cited sources support the associated claims and their dates, definitions and coverage fit the question.
