Can my AI agent run a workflow across several services?

Combine distinct services into a deliverable with sources and a known scope.

By Agentik · Updated

A multi-provider agent workflow combines services that contribute different parts of a job. Agentik supplies shared access to supported tools while your agent plans the steps, passes the necessary data and assembles the result. Define the deliverable, inputs and spending authority before executing. One shared balance does not remove intermediate errors, output differences or account permissions.

These are documented workflow patterns. Their playbooks list the actual tools and example inputs; inspect their current contracts before using them.

Define what passes between steps

Search results can supply URLs for a page-reading tool. The extracted text can supply supported claims for a brief. A generation operation needs a prompt and any required asset URLs that meet its schema. Carry the necessary fields rather than forwarding an arbitrary response wholesale.

Keep source links with factual observations. Distinguish provider data, the agent's interpretation and generated content in the final deliverable. A long-running ad, for example, is evidence of duration rather than proof of profitability.

Preserve progress when one service is slow

Save the identifiers of submitted work and follow the provider's retrieval contract. A pending step should remain part of the existing workflow; resubmitting it can start another billable operation.

If a step fails, report what completed, what remains usable and what is missing. Inspect any proposed alternative before continuing. Agentik's shared access does not mean an automatic cross-provider fallback has been configured for your workflow.

What you pay for

Supported paid tools use Agentik's prepaid workspace balance. Inspect the selected tool's pricing units and maximum before approving a run; a reservation can differ from its settled charge. Funding fees, taxes and your model's usage are separate. Current terms are on the Pricing and Billing pages linked below.

Recover a partially completed ad-research job

In a competitor ad brief, public-ad discovery may finish while a landing-page read remains pending. Retain the completed ads and their source URLs, follow the existing page-reading run and mark the missing evidence in the draft.

The workflow is complete only when its required deliverable passes the agreed checks. Starting another provider without inspecting its contract changes the plan and may add cost.

Give this to your agent

Plan a multi-provider workflow for [deliverable] using Agentik. For each step, define required input, output fields, tool contract, maximum and completion state. Preserve source links and run IDs at every handoff. Include recovery instructions if a middle step is pending or fails: retain usable output, retrieve the existing run and quote any alternative before execution. Ask for missing inputs and wait for approval of paid work.

Your agent should inspect the tools and ask for missing inputs before proposing any paid work.

This catalog-based reservation maximum belongs to the playbook’s inputs, separately from this guide’s worked example. It is not an executed charge. Optional calls, funding fees, taxes and model usage are excluded.

Questions

Can I run a workflow across several services and pay in one place?

Supported Agentik tool calls can use the same workspace balance. Your agent still orchestrates the steps and your model provider bills its own usage.

Does Agentik automatically schedule the workflow?

The documented playbooks are instructions your agent follows. Do not assume a hosted scheduler or background automation; your application or agent runtime owns that orchestration.

Can I combine search, scraping and image generation?

Yes, when the required operations are in the supported catalog. Inspect each schema and pass valid source data between the steps.

What if the last step fails?

Review the existing run and any consumed usage. Preserve earlier outputs and report the incomplete step instead of claiming the whole workflow succeeded or cost nothing.
